Vinny’s Vigs: NFL Week 5

Welcome to Vinny’s Vigs: Weekly NFL Picks

WEEK 5 is here and there is plenty of money to be made!

NFL WEEK 5

Each and every week, much like plenty of those across our great land, I turn my TV on and indulge in a full slate of NFL games. Some teams great, some mediocre, some flat-out miserable but no matter what, we watch. Out in the middle of the desert, a plethora of experts (or handicappers) give us the guidelines for what we expect to see in each and every game. Day after day, those casino lights never go off, each and every passing moment, they rack in more and more cash. However, each and every day somebody beats those handicappers in Las Vegas, and I intend to be that somebody….

There is plenty money to be made, and no time to waste!

Welcome to Vinny’s Vigs!

FIO’s FIVE

5 Picks for the Week

  • Steelers -2.5 vs. Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Colts are a competitive team in a week NFC South that hasn’t found its true identity yet. After a blowout victory in London last week, the Colts had a long travel week back to the states only to be matched up with Pittsburgh. Evidently, the Steelers are coming off heartbreaker last Thursday, but have had a extra 3 days of rest to game plan for this Colts squad. Clean cut and dry, give me the Steelers by a late field goal.

  • Raiders/Patriots Over 45.5

When I saw this number I was a little shocked following the Patriots finding their form vs. Buffalo this past weekend. New England’s offense is a very capable unit when playing to their full strength and they have averaged 28.2 Points Per Game at Gillette Stadium since the beginning of 2025. The Raiders roll into Foxborough with a surprising 3-1 record. The Vegas offensive unit has failed to score less than 26 points in a game so far this season. There is a possible chance that this number can get blown past on Sunday.

  • Cowboys -8 vs. Tampa Bay

This is an interesting spread to bet and many people hate an 8 point spread, however, I feel this game may get out of hand quickly. Rookie backup quarterback Jalon Daniels now has NFL film and the Cowboys will look to exploit that.

  • Jaguars -6.5 vs. Philadelphia

The first real London game of the year will always feature the Jacksonville Jaguars. Even when the Jaguars were lousy, they had some success across the pond. This strong Jacksonville team has offensive prowess and a strong defense and they couldn’t be playing Philadelphia at a better time. The Eagles are seriously broken on both sides of the ball. Their already struggling offense has just traded away its Pro-Bowl center Cam Jergens to Baltimore and lost perennial All-Pro Tackle Lane Johnson to an unexpected midseason retirement. An already struggling offensive line just got weaker as they head to play the number 1 rush defense in football. Give me the Jags laying 6.5.

  • Titans +7.5 vs. Houston

This is the friends and family game of the week. Only players friends and family will have this one on TV. A divisional matchup between two 0-4 teams from one of the NFL’s worst divisions. The Texans are perhaps the NFL’s biggest let down of the season starting off 0-4 after trips to the playoffs in the previous 3 seasons. What was once considered the preseason Number 1 Defense hasn’t lived up to the hype. The Titans have an excuse for being 0-4 as they were already terrible and simply lacked improvement. For a game between two opponents that have far too much in common, 7.5 is too large a number. Give me the Titans to cover +7.5.

THREE-LEGGED DAWG

Three Underdogs to Build That Generational Wealth Parlay

  • Bills Moneyline against Los Angeles Rams

This Rams team is the league’s latest Super team attempt and Aaron Donald is back in the lineup this Monday in LA. However, Matthew Stafford has struggled this season with protecting the football. He has thrown 6 interceptions in just four games. On the other hand, Buffalo boasts the NFL’s number 1 scoring offense averaging 32 points per game. Not to mention, Buffalo is 30-8 following a loss since Josh Allen was drafted to the Bills.

Give me the Bills in an upset.

  • Raiders Moneyline against New England Patriots

This Raiders team has been one of the NFL’s biggest surprises this season. Klint Kubiak has quickly built a thriving offense that is one of just 2 teams to score 26+ in every game this season. The Patriots, following a surging victory against the Bills, find themselves with 15 players on the injury report, including 5 cornerbacks. The secondary is vulnerable against a hot Kirk Cousins and co. Everybody knows, you can let Kirk get hot!

Give me Vegas.

  • Browns Moneyline against New York Jets

Clevelannnnnnd, this is for you! Who would’ve thought we’d be talking about the 3-1 Raiders and the 3-1 Browns after 4 weeks? Not me. Cleveland is coming off of extra rest headed to Metlife to play a Jets team that got dominated last week in Chicago. Deshaun Watson is playing his best football in years and if Cleveland can win the turnover battle, I want the Dawg Pound.

IN THE ENDZONE

  • Treveyon Henderson -135

No Rhamondre Stevenson, a weak Raider defensive line. No Brainer.

  • Colston Loveland +220

This is finally the week that our boy finds the endzone. Great odds against the team up north.

  • Jalon Daniels +255

Thursday Night Football. Rookie Dual-Threat QB in his second start. Go make a statement.

Lock in.

Gotta bet to win!
